Nuclear crisis: How safe is Japan's food and water?
MORE than 22,000 people are now confirmed dead or missing in the wake of the megaquake and tsunami that struck Japan on 11 March. The search for bodies and survivors continues, but attention is shifting to the dangers of radioactive fallout from the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant. By Tuesday, the fallout had been detected as far afield as Russia and the west coast of the US. Closer to the plant, radiation levels more than 100 times the legal limit were detected in seawater 100 metres south of its water outlet. On Monday,
